When the WPPHotos project came out I was super excited. I became a moderator and found great joy in seeing all the great pictures that came in.

But some didn’t have enough description. I wanted to know things like where? Why? How?

So I put together https://WPPHotos.Info which tells the stories behind the photos. There’s a new one every Monday, so stop by!

James Koussertari

This week, James Koussertari from London, England writes about leaving a good career he liked to find a great career he loved in WordPress.

Besides playing a big part in my career, WordPress has also allowed me to explore some of my own ideas. The ability to be able to execute them fairly easily with WordPress is one of the reasons why I love it. You can completely take control of your future with WordPress, if you’re willing to put in the work.

Robin’s essay is available on HeroPress.com.

Hallway Chats

Tom Finley

This week on Hallway Chats Nyasha and Topher had a chat with Tom Finley. Tom runs his own agency catering to breweries and restaurants, and we asked him about design, social justice, and AI generated content. It was a really great conversation, I recommend you check it out!

Tom’s essay is available at HallwayChats.com

HeroPress Tip Of The Week

Making Block Patterns, No Code!

Every week we release a Tip Of The Week to help people get a better handle on WordPress, how it works, how to use it, etc.

This week’s Tip is about making block patterns in Gutenberg without code. I learned how this week, and it’s crazy easy.

Closing Thoughts – The Metaverse

Screenshot of the metaverse in WordPress

This week I was a guest on the Torque Social Hour podcast with Doc Pop and Anthony, and I learned some things that really surprised me, in a good way. When Facebook came out with a 3d world nd called it the Metaverse I didn’t want to have anything to do with it.

But Anthony is working on a WordPress plugin called the Three Object Viewer, and showed it off during the episode. What I learned is that not only is it Facebook proprietary, but it’s just HTML and can run on any server, AND can be viewed in any brand 3d headset. That blew my mind, and got me excited.

Anthony’s plugin allows you to build a 3d world right in the Gutenberg editor, where 3d objects are just blocks. That’s brilliant. I’m pretty excited to get into it, it reminds me of the heady days of VRML.

That’s it for this week! If you want to be SUPER AWESOME, get other people to sign up too!

That’s it for this week! If you’d like to get this post in your email every week, make sure you sign up!
